What We Believe

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible; And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made: Who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose Kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets; And we believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. We look for the Resurrection of the dead, And the life of the world to come.  Following the holy fathers, we all with one accord teach men to acknowledge one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at once complete in Godhead and complete in manhood, truly God and truly man, consisting also of a reasonable soul and body; of one substance with the Father as regards His Godhead, and at the same time of one substance with us as regards His manhood; like us in all respects, apart from sin; as regards His Godhead, begotten of the Father before the ages, but yet as regards His manhood begotten, for us men and for our salvation, of Mary the Ever-Virgin, the Theotokos; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, recognized in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation; the distinction of natures being in no way annulled by the union, but rather the characteristics of each nature being preserved and coming together to form one person and subsistence, not as parted or separated into two persons, but one and the same Son and Only-begotten God the Word, Lord Jesus Christ; even as the prophets from earliest times spoke of Him, and our Lord Jesus Christ Himself taught us, and the Creed of the Fathers has handed down to us. Amen.

Мы верим в единого Бога, Отца Всемогущего, Творца неба и земли, и всего видимого и невидимого.

И во единого Господа Иисуса Христа, Единородного Сына Божия, рожденного от Отца прежде всех веков. Свет от Света, истинный Бог от истинного Бога, рожденный, а не сотворенный, единосущный Отцу, Которым все создано.

Который ради нас, людей, и ради нашего спасения сошел с небес, воплотился от Духа Святого и Богородицы и стал человеком.

Он был распят за нас при Понтии Пилате, и страдал, и был погребен.

И в третий день воскрес, по Писанию.

Он вознесся на небо и сидит одесную Отца.

И придет опять со славой судить живых и мертвых, и Царству Его не будет конца.

И мы веруем в Духа Святого, Господа, Подателя жизни, Который исходит от Отца, Которому вместе с Отцом и Сыном поклоняются и Которого прославляют, Который говорил через пророков.

Мы верим в единую, святую, кафолическую и апостольскую Церковь.

Мы признаем одно крещение для отпущения грехов.

Мы ожидаем воскресения мертвых и жизни грядущего мира.

Итак, мы, следуя святым отцам, с единодушным согласием учим людей исповедовать одного и того же Сына, Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, совершенного по Божеству и совершенного по человечеству; истинно Бога и истинно человека, разумную душу и тело; единосущного нам по человечеству; во всем подобного нам, безгрешного; рожденного прежде всех веков от Отца по Божеству, а в последние времена для нас и для нашего спасения рожденного от Девы Марии, Матери Божией, по человечеству; один и тот же Христос, Сын, Господь, Единородный, признаваемый в двух естествах, неслитно, неизменно, нераздельно, неразлучно; Различие естеств ни в коем случае не устраняется соединением, но скорее сохраняется свойство каждого естества и соединяется в одно Лицо и одно Существо, не разделенное и не разделенное на два лица, но один и тот же Сын и Единородный, Бог Слово, Господь Иисус Христос, как о Нем от начала возвещали пророки, и Сам Господь Иисус Христос учил нас, и Символ веры святых отцов передал нам.
